AkzoNobel opened a €7.5 million innovation lab at its Sassenheim R&D hub to speed up development of sustainable, solvent-free, energy-efficient powder coatings.

French chemical producer Arkema has reported a breakthrough in new manufacturing processes that incorporate up to 40% recycled content from old packaging into its powder coating resins.

AkzoNobel has completed a significant investment project at its production facility in Bac Ninh province, Vietnam, aimed at strengthening the company’s position in Asia and focusing on more sustainable manufacturing. The total investment amounts to €18.5 million.

The major capacity expansion was completed at AkzoNobel’s Powder Coatings site in Como, Italy. The expansion is aimed to secure supply to customers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
