Solvay is investing an undisclosed sum at its site in Livorno, Italy, to launch its first circular highly dispersible silica (HDS), which is made with bio-based sodium silicate derived from rice husk ash.
As part of its “dynamic portfolio management,” French specialty chemicals producer Arkema said it has agreed to sell its subsidiary Febex, a global player in phosphorus derivatives, to Belgian group Prayon.
Indian specialty chemicals company Calibre Chemicals has agreed to acquire RheinPerChemie (RPC) from Evonik. Based in Rheinfelden, Germany, RPC manufactures ammonium and sodium persulfates.
