Eurocolour, the European umbrella organization for manufacturers of pigments, dyes, fillers, and ceramic decoration products, welcomes four new members to its Presidential Board.
French biotech company Pili, a manufacturer of sustainable colorant and pigment, has produced several tons of anthranilic acid, a 100% biobased aromatic compound which the company already converts into dyes and pigments.
German flavor and fragrance company Symrise has increased its stake in in US company Kobo Products, a pigment and powder specialist, to 49%. The transaction, said Symrise, creates further opportunities for both companies in the fields of mineral UV filters and decorative cosmetics. Kobo customers are also expected to benefit from expanded capacities and global supply chains.
Venator’s second-largest investor, Czech private equity fund J&T MS 1 SICAV, is asking for a seat on the board of the UK-headquartered multinational pigments and additives producer, citing major concerns about its financial underperformance and massive shareholder value destruction.
Specialty chemicals company Lanxess is expanding its global production network for inorganic pigments and building a new plant in China for the Inorganic Pigments business unit. The new facility for high-quality iron oxide red pigments is being erected at a cost of €55 million at the chemical park in Ningbo, on the eastern coast of China.
