Warwick Chemicals Acquires IDC International Detergent Chemicals

Warwick Chemicals has completed the acquisition of IDC International Detergent Chemicals of Cork in the Republic of Ireland.

Speaking after the IDC acquisition was completed, Peter Bradley, CEO Warwick Chemicals commented "The acquisition of IDC will help us both accelerate our new product introductions and provide us with added flexibility as new markets emerge for bleach activators.' Warwick has reacted to the emergence of these markets - in the USA and across the world - with products which work even more efficiently at lower temperatures and with less water consumption".

The IDC plant has been producing TAED for use in laundry and household product applications since 1984. Following the construction of a new plant in 1990 and further investment between 2000 and 2007, the plant has now increased output seven-fold, with the added benefits of improved yields and finished goods product quality.

IDC was purchased from Dubag Deutsche Unternehmensbeteiligungen, who bought it in February 2011 from Henkel.
