Lumar Markets BASF’s Specialty Amines

Spanish distributor Lumar and BASF are to start an exclusive collaboration to market specialty amines to the cooling lubricants and metalworking fluids industry in Europe.

Lumar will initially market the chemicals, which are used in a variety of industrial metal processing applications, in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Portugal.

Oliver Cullmann, vice president business management specialty amines in BASF’s intermediates division, said Lumar had a broad know-how and wide experience in the metalworking fluids sector.

Lumar directors Bruno Saillant and Lluis Ribera added that BASF’s broad specialty amines portfolio greatly supplemented its product range for formulating lubricants, detergents and industrial fluids.

The privately-owned group was established in Barcelona in the early 90s to distribute lubricant additives and corrosion inhibitors.
