Nils van der Plas: Akzo Nobel's new General Manager for bulk salt business

Akzo Nobel: Effective as of August 1, 2013, Nils van der Plas has been appointed General Manager of AkzoNobel's bulk salt activities, part of the company's Industrial Chemicals business.

Van der Plas joined AkzoNobel more than 20 years ago and has held a number of marketing and management positions, including that of Project Director Procurement, Dynamo Integrated Supply Chain.

In its production plants in Hengelo and Delfzijl (The Netherlands) and Mariager (Denmark) AkzoNobel manufactures approximately six million tons of high quality evaporated salt. Most of the pure salt is applied in the chemical industry. Other applications include the food and feed industry and the use as de-icing salt to increase road safety in winter times.
