Intrinsically Safe HMI Devices from Siemens for Hazardous Areas

Photo

The new embedded SIMATIC HMI Panel PC Ex and HMI Thin Client Ex are completely maintenance-free and require no special measures such as complicated and expensive casings or additional certification procedures. They can be deployed directly in the hazardous areas of Zones 1/21 and 2/22, subject to combustible gases, vapors and dust/air mixtures, for example, or in the manufacture of petroleum, medicines and cement, as well as in marine applications.

The Panel PC Ex can be flexibly configured and is suitable for use directly at the machine or outdoors in ambient temperatures ranging from -20 to +50°C (optionally down to -30°C). Optionally equipped with 15" or 19" touch display, it is particularly suitable for HMI applications, measurement and testing, as well as data recording and communication.

The Thin Client Ex is designed as a flexible remote HMI station for operator control and monitoring, for example as a thin client in a remote terminal environment.
