The Industrial Automation Group of Advantech introduces the EKI-7659CPI, an Industrial Managed PoE Switch. This PoE switch not only features eight PoE ports, but also provides two Gigabit Ethernet ports, allowing high speed communications for many different industrial applications. Furthermore, the EKI-7659CPI supports IP-based monitoring and control, allowing users to access up to eight devices connecting through a standard web browser to check power status, shutdown, restart, and more.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) provides a flexible and cost effective solution for remote connectivity. PoE enabled IP phones, wireless LAN access points, network cameras, and embedded controllers are all perfect examples of products installed in inconvenient locations where it’s expensive or infeasible to support power supplies.

The EKI-7659CPI is extremely rugged, with a wide operating temperature range (-40 ~ 75° C) allowing it to operate reliably even in the most extreme environments. It offers a 48 VDC redundant power input design and is secured with a double protection mechanism; Power Polarity Reverse and an Overload Current Resettable Fuse. In addition to the standard Managed Ethernet switch features, the EKI-7659CPI provides power supply settings per port, such as port priority, power limit, and PoE output enable/disable, to guarantee a reliable Power over Ethernet network.

The EKI-7659CPI provides up to 15.4 watts of power per port and can be used to power IEEE802.3af compliant powered devices (PD) through an Ethernet cable eliminating the need for additional wiring. Furthermore, the EKI-7659CPI comes equipped with a compact metal housing with an IP30 rating to help protect against the dust and dirt common to industrial environments.
