Stolthaven Opens Taiwan Terminal
“We are delighted with the addition of the SHRVK terminal to our global network, which enables us to increase the reach of the supply chain solutions that we can offer our customers,” said Stolthaven Terminals president Guy Bessant. “The partnership also opens up Taiwan to our broad customer base and the integrated services we can provide in collaboration with our sister companies Stolt Tankers and Stolt Tank Containers.
As well as storage, the terminal at Kaohsiung Port will also provide services such as drumming, warehousing and distribution for chemical and bulk specialty liquid customers. In addition, the facility is said to be well positioned to provide storage for supporting the transition to greener energy and fuel alternatives, including ammonia.
The companies signed a letter of intent in April 2021 to establish the joint venture. Revivegen’s main business is recycling and process chemicals for the semiconductor industry, but when space became available at the new port, the Taiwanese firm secured an 11-hectare plot of land and asked Stolthaven to partner with them in developing it.
Revivegen chairman and general manager Cheng Yu Chung said: “Establishing a joint venture with Stolthaven Terminals allows Revivegen to enter into the chemical storage industry and gain more exposure to international business and digitization, which creates a win-win situation for both companies. This joint venture is also expected to elevate the status of Kaohsiung Port as a global storage and distribution hub.”
