Steilemann new President of PlasticsEurope

Markus Steilemann, CEO of German engineering plastics producer Covestro, has been appointed to a three-year term as president of PlasticsEurope, the association of plastics manufacturers in Europe.

The 50-year-old executive succeeds Javier Constante of Dow Chemical, who oversaw a fundamental reorganization of the industry organitation. Steilemann said he intends to increase the focus of the association on driving sustainability and in particular the circular economy.
