STAXS Starts Construction of Dedicated Carbon Neutral Facility to Meet Increased Customer Needs

To further increase its capabilities in serving Life Science customers in Europe, STAXS is expanding its facility in Heerenveen, specifically designed for this customer segment and with carbon neutrality in mind.

With this expansion, the capacity of the facility will roughly double in size, and allow STAXS to continue to innovate and grow in a sustainable way in the future. The new expansion allows STAXS  to continue to provide quality services to a rapidly expanding customer base.

Green energy use and reducing CO2 emissions
The current facility already uses green energy and with this expansion, all of the warehouse will be heated without the use of fossil fuels. The lack of grid capacity was a challenging factor in the process, as STAXS was dedicated to have this building operating without fossil fuels. STAXS is grateful to her partners, including the city of Heerenveen, who have all supported the project. Through their combined efforts, it is now possible to connect the building onto the electricity grid and realize STAXS CO2 reduction goals.

The expansion of the STAXS facility is an example of an energy neutral and inspiring environment and the next big step for STAXS to reach CO2 neutrality. The construction work has started in June and is expected to be finalized in Q1 2023.
