On 4-5 November 2015, the economic powerhouse in the Ruhr area will live and breathe process engineering. This is when the doors to Solids and Recycling-Technik in Dortmund will open to its visitors, and for two days will once again become the beating heart of the industry. For the very first time there will be some 450 exhibitors showing their wares.

"The shows are a mirror for the market: all the most important suppliers will be there, so the visitors have a unique chance to experience the full breadth of what is available," says Daniel Eisele, event director for Easyfairs. "No matter what kind of solids or recycling technologies you are looking for, you will find them at these shows."

At the upcoming seventh edition of Solids Dortmund, the industry will present the entire spectrum of machines and components for sieving, filtering, dosing, weighing, measuring, crushing, chilling, heating, milling, mixing, crushing, cutting, packing, storage and conveyance of all sorts of bulk goods, ranging from powders through to coarse solids, as well as the relevant explosion protection technologies.

The public lecture stages will also take up the topic of technologies for powders, granules and solids. On Wednesday, November 4, the discussions on stage will revolve around process engineering in the food processing industry and the dust-free handling of solids in Hall 4, while the focus in Hall 6 will be the conveyance and transport of solid goods.

On Thursday, November 5, the experts at the podium in Hall 4 will concern themselves with improving solids handling processes through simulation, and employing the latest and most exact measurement technologies in order to optimise precision for better results. The speakers on stage in Hall 6 will inform the audience about preventing damage through correct maintenance of solids machinery and silos and what the best techniques are for transporting highly-sensitive bulk goods.

With 200 suppliers of recycling technology, which is 33% more than at the previous edition, Recycling-Technik is also gaining momentum. In addition to the fully-booked Halls 4, 5 and 6 Easyfairs has also opened up Hall 7 for suppliers of recyling technologies. Demolition, sorting and conveyance machinery, shredders and crushers, separating technologies and techniques for preparing reclaimable materials will be presented by companies such as Eriez Magnetics Europe, Europress Anlagen-und Maschinenbau, Werner Doppstadt Umwelttechnik, HSM, Komptech, MeWa Recycling Maschinen u. Anlagenbau, Redwave, RMS, Rosenbauer International, Spaleck, THM Recycling Solutions, and many more.

Furthermore, two stages in Hall 7 will be devoted to the topic of recycling technology. In cooperation with the BAV (Bundesverband der Altholzaufbereiter und –verwerter, or the Federal Association of Reclaimed Wood Processors), a lecture series on the topic of recycling and reusing scrap wood will take place on the morning of Wednesday, November 4. "Our Association is delighted that the event organiser has taken up the cause of these highly relevent topics," says Uwe Groll, chairman of the BAV. "We are looking forward to a very successful lecture series and want to invite all recyclers to join us." During the afternoon, seminars will be held on the topic of commercial waste and the ways in which it can be disposed of or reprocessed.

The Association of Construction Materials Recyclers (Baustoff Recycling Verband) will sponsor a series of talks on the subject of recycling building materials, including an analysis of the new government regulations on groundwater protection. In the afternoon, the discussions will revolve around reclamation strategies for industrial wastes and residues for the construction sector and models for cost control in the waste management business.

The second stage is located at the Recycling-Technik community stand in Hall 7, which will be manned by the WFZruhr (Wirtschaftsförderungszentrum Ruhr für Entsorgungs- und Verwertungstechnik), an association for recycling and waste management companies. Workshops will take place here on both show days, exploring the topics of optimized recycling through Secondary Raw Materials and fire and explosion protection in recycling plants.

In addition to the exhibition and open lectures, an expert congress will also focus on recycling and urban mining. On November 4, the 6^th Urban Mining Congress will be ceremoniously opened by Ullrich Sierau, Lord Mayor of the city of Dortmund. This will be the first time that the Urban Mining Congress takes place in Dortmund. "The collaboration between our association and Easyfairs provides the ideal opportunity to position two well-established events side-by-side on the trade show landscape," said Dr Ernst J. Baumann, member of the governing board of Urban Mining.

The Urban Mining Congress will take place in parallel with both the show and the 2^nd German Fire and Explosion Protection Congress. After its successful premiere at the previous edition, Easyfairs and IND EX (Intercontinental Association of Experts for Industrial Explosion Protection) have agreed to continue the interdisciplinary conference on fire and explosion protection. "In this conference, experts share their vast knowledge, allowing participants an insider's view into the science behind the field, as well as a very exciting live demonstration of the practical impacts of fires and explosions," says Stefan Penno, President of IND EX. According to the regulations on continuing education established by the VSDI (Verband für Sicherheit, Gesundheit und Umweltschutz bei der Arbeit, or the Federation for Health, Safety and Environmental Protection at Work), attendees will receive 5 VSDI points for their participation.
