Oxea Declares FM for Intermediates at Bay City

Oxea has declared force majeure for n/i butanol n/i butyl acetate-propanol and n-propyl acetate produced at its Bay City, Texas site.

The company cites a "malfunction in the production process that, despite its best efforts could not be avoided." It said the facility cannot be operated at full run and it is currently evaluating the effects on its ability to supply.

All inventories of oxo and ester products are extremely low throughout the supply chain, Oxea added, saying that customer orders are being carefully monitored in an attempt to keep delays to a minimum
