Momentive Moves PU Additives HQ to Shanghai

Momentive Performance Materials Inc. (MPM) has moved management of its polyurethane additives product line from Tarrytown, New York, in the U.S. to Shanghai, China. Tony Lanchak, vice president of urethane additives division, said the integrated Chinese site also houses the business unit's sales, marketing, and technology for the People's Republic.

The U.S. company said it is continuing to increase manufacturing capacity and expand its portfolio for urethane additives manufactured at Nantong, China. Earlier this year it expanded production at Leverkusen, Germany, and Itatiba, Brazil, opened a new application development center at Termoli, Italy, and broadened its portfolio in India. The moves are aimed at meeting increased demand and in some cases shortening the supply chain, Momentive said.
