With a multi-million dollar investment, MFG Chemical, headquartered in Dalton, GA, is upgrading its Pasadena, Texas plant, which the company acquired in March 2018. Plant improvements - debottlenecking and new capacity additions, including two new reactors, one of which is 20,000 gallons in size - are scheduled for completion by the end of the 1st quarter of 2019.

The acquisition of the facility, which was made to keep up with demand for specialty and custom chemicals from soap & detergents and other markets, sits on 27 acres. Together with the company’s three plants in Northwest Georgia, MFG Chemical has become one of America’s largest consumers of Maleic Anhydride and producers of Dioctyl Sodium Sulfosuccinates (DOSS).

Keith Arnold, CEO of MFG Chemical and member of the SOCMA Board of Governors, commented, “Our significant capital investments in the Pasadena plant, together with our three other world-class ISO 9001:2015 Certified manufacturing plants in Dalton, GA, reflect our ongoing effort to deepen our manufacturing and formulating partnerships with soap & detergents and other valued customers.”

MFG Chemical is a leading specialty and custom chemical manufacturer for a variety of global markets, including soap & detergents, agriculture, asphalt, graphic arts, lubricants, mining, oilfield, paints & coatings, personal care, pulp & paper and water treatment. The company is headquartered in Dalton, GA, and operates four manufacturing facilities with world-class product development capabilities in Northwest Georgia and Pasadena, Texas.
