Merck KGaA Sells Bioanalytics Business

In a transaction due to close in the next few months, Darmstadt, Germany-based pharmaceuticals and chemicals producer Merck KGaA has agreed to sell its DDS bioanalytics division to laboratory operator Eurofins Scientific for an undisclosed sum. All of the business's 175 employees are expected to transfer to Luxembourg-based Eurofins, which manufactures products for pharmaceutical research. DDS last reported annual sales of around €26 million.
