LyondellBasell Names New Supervisory Board Members

LyondellBasell announced that Milton Carroll, Bruce A. Smith and Rudy van der Meer have been named to the company's supervisory board. In addition, Marvin O. Schlanger has been named chairman of the board.

LyondellBasell's supervisory board currently includes Joshua J. Harris, Philip Kassin, Scott M. Kleinman, Jeffrey S. Serota and Marvin Schlanger.
 
Marvin Schlanger, Board Chairman
Marvin O. Schlanger is a principal in the firm of Cherry Hill Chemical Investments, which provides management services and capital to chemical and allied industries. He currently serves as chairman of the board of CEVA Group, and vice chairman of Hexion Specialty Chemicals. He also serves as a director of Momentive Performance Materials Company, UGI Corporation and AmeriGas Propane. He formally was president, chief executive officer and chairman of Resolution Performance Products; chairman of Covalence Specialty Materials; and chairman of Resolution Specialty Materials. Schlanger was with ARCO Chemical for 23 years where he served in positions including chief financial officer, chief operating officer and chief executive officer. Schlanger was CEO and a member of the ARCO Chemical board of directors when the company was acquired by Lyondell Chemical Company in 1998. He was named to the LyondellBasell board in April 2010.
 
Milton Carroll
Milton Carroll founded Instrument Products, an oil-tool manufacturing company, and serves as its chairman. Carroll also serves as chairman of the board of CenterPoint Energy. Additionally, he is a member of the board of directors of Halliburton, Health Care Service Corporation and Western Gas Holdings. He previously served on the boards of directors of DCP Midstream, Devon Energy Corporation and EGL.
 
Bruce Smith
Bruce Smith served as the chairman of the board, president and CEO of Tesoro Corporation, an independent refiner and marketer of petroleum products, from 1996 until 2010, when he retired. Previously, Smith was executive vice president, chief financial officer and chief operating officer at Tesoro. He also has served in executive positions with Valero Energy Group and Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust Company.
 
Rudy van der Meer
Rudy van der Meer is chairman of the supervisory boards of Imtech , Gazelle Holding and Energie Beheer Nederland. He also is a member of the supervisory boards of James Hardie Industries, ING Bank Nederland and ING Verzekeringen (Insurance) Nederland, both subsidiaries of ING Groep. For 32 years, van der Meer was with Akzo Nobel, where he served as chief executive officer for both the Coatings and Chemicals businesses and was a member of the executive board.
