Kemira Acquires Albemarle's Facility in Teesport, UK

Kemira has closed a deal with Albemarle to acquire the legal entity located in Teesport, Middlesbrough, UK. The negotiations were completed on July 30. The site employs approximately 30 persons. The parties have agreed not to disclose the transaction price.

The Teesport facility currently produces emulsifiers and intermediates for the drilling fluids industry. Albemarle's completion fluids business is not a part of this sale. The company will continue to produce its bromine-based completion fluids in Jordan and the U.S. to service the global oil field market.
