US contractor KBR has won a contract for its Plinke hydrochloric acid purification technologies from Italmatch Deutschland.

Under the terms of the contract, KBR will provide the technology license, basic and detailed engineering, proprietary equipment and related advisory services to Italmatch’s phosphoric acid plant in Frankfurt, Germany.

In a separate deal, KBR has been awarded two contracts by Japan’s Toyo Engineering to supply an operator training simulator and an advanced process control system for an ammonia project in India.

The 726,000 t/y plant is being built for Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. KBR’s teams in Houston, USA, and Pune, India, expect to carry out the work over a three-year period.

KBR did not disclose the value of the contracts.
