Jacobs Wins Egypt PVC Expansion

US contractor Jacobs Engineering has been awarded a contract by Egypt’s TCI Sanmar Chemical to provide detailed engineering and procurement assistance services for a PVC project at Port Said. TCI Sanmar is expanding its PVC-2 plant to 200,000 t/y, taking its total global capacity to 400,000 t/y and strengthening its position as one of the largest PVC producers in the Middle East and North Africa.

Engineering work will take 18 months with mechanical completion scheduled in 21 months’ time. The value of the contract was not disclosed.
