The office will coordinate operations in the Gulf region, extending IMCD’s services to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and Jordan.

“This region has an extraordinary growth potential for IMCD. Besides strengthening our market position in the Middle East, we will continue to develop our product know-how and invest in expanding our technical expertise,” said Frank Schneider, business group director coatings & construction and executive committee member of IMCD.

The distributor will serve all business groups with a focus on pharmaceuticals, coatings & construction, food & nutrition and advanced materials.

Separately, following the acquisition of Swiss-based DCS Pharma last December, IMCD will rebrand its Mexican operations as IMCD Mexico. DCS Pharma had operations in Mexico as well as Spain, Italy, Germany and China.

“Many of our existing and prospective suppliers are seeking a reliable, specialty-focused partner to develop their business across a variety of markets in Mexico. IMCD is now in a position to support them in their growth plans,” said IMCD’s president of Americas Marcus Jordan.

Consequently, IMCD will be expanding its headquarters in Mexico City, having also recently recruited two additional senior leaders for its food & nutrition and home & personal care businesses.
