IMCD Expands Pharmaceuticals Technical Centre and Wins Laura Marshall Award

IMCD Group, a global distribution partner and formulator of specialty chemicals and ingredients, recently announced the expansion of its Pharmaceuticals Technical Centre in Jakarta, Indonesia. This facility will serve as the hub for pharmaceutical development and innovation across Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

Jakarta Expansion

The expanded center features advanced capabilities to support the development of products utilizing active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Equipped with a cutting-edge climatic chamber for stability testing and spectrophotometry, the facility ensures that products meet the most stringent manufacturing and testing standards. As a main hub for IMCD’s nutraceuticals in Asia Pacific, the center boasts a comprehensive product portfolio featuring the highest quality active ingredients and functional excipients, aligned with the latest nutraceutical market trends.

Among its innovative technologies, the facility is home to a fluid bed processor that allows the exploration of multi-particulate drug delivery systems, offering flexibility in the development of sophisticated pharmaceutical solutions. The advanced coating processes provided at the center are designed to enhance product stability and enable controlled-release profiles, providing clients with tailored solutions to meet specific product needs.

“At IMCD, we are committed to being more than just a distributor – we aim to be a partner in innovation,” said Dessy Nathalia, Pharmaceuticals Regional Technical Manager at IMCD Indonesia. “Our new Pharmaceuticals Technical Centre not only co-create with our customers and suppliers but also ensure the highest quality standards in product development.”

Laura Marshall Award

In addition to this significant expansion, IMCD recently announced that its innovative "Boost My Cycle" concept has won the prestigious Laura Marshall Award for Technology and Disruption. Developed by the technical team at IMCD’s Beauty & Personal Care application laboratory in Milton Keynes, UK, the "Boost My Cycle" concept is a 4-in-1 skincare product designed to adapt to the dynamic changes skin undergoes throughout the menstrual cycle.

The "Boost My Cycle" concept consists of an ultra-hydrating cream providing daily defense against a disrupted skin barrier and the cumulative effects of hormonal changes, supported by three versatile serum boosters. This innovative approach ensures that no matter where individuals are in their cycle, their skin receives the care it needs, helping them to look and feel their best.

"We are incredibly honored to receive the Laura Marshall Award for Technology and Disruption. The Boost My Cycle formulation highlights our team's dedication to innovative formulations and our deep understanding of the link between skin health and the menstrual cycle”, commented Kathryn Davies, Technical Manager, Beauty & Personal Care, at IMCD UK. “This recognition reflects the power of forward-thinking and the impact of science-driven solutions in skincare and cosmetics."
