Genzyme Expanding Manufacturing In Belgium

Genzyme which has struggled with manufacturing problems of its top products, said it would expand operations in Geel, Belgium, to support its drugs for Pompe disease. Genzyme, which is the target of an $18.5 billion takeover bid by France's Sanofi-Aventis, said it would build an additional manufacturing plant in Geel to support the long-term growth of its drugs, Myozyme and Lumizyme.
