Evonik to Buy Dutch Peroxide Producer

German chemical producer Evonik has agreed to acquire the hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) business of PeroxyChem Netherlands from PeroxyChem Holdings for an undisclosed sum. Following anti-trust approval, the sale is planned to close in the fourth quarter.

The acquisition, which will include the production site, 47employees and the customer base, will improve the German company’s high-profile position in the global market by an unspecified margin.

With annual output exceeding 900,000 t/y, Evonik currently produces H2O2 at three European sites, including Antwerp, Belgium, Rheinefelden, Germany, and Weissenstein, Austria.
