US chemical producer Eastman has announced plans to expand its copolyester site at Kuantan, Malaysia, by the first quarter of 2018, thereby increasing PETG capacity by about 20%. The site produces a range of copolyesters.

Burt Capel, vice president and general manager of Eastman’s Specialty Plastics business – part of the Advanced Materials business segment – said the investment supports the continued growth of the company’s copolyester products globally, especially in Asia-Pacific, and provides flexibility across its polymer asset base.
