DSM to Acquire Vitatene

DSM said it has signed an agreement with the Italian P&R Group to acquire Vitatene, a producer of natural carotenoids based in León, Spain.  The acquisition allows DSM to strengthen the natural carotenoids offerings of its nutrition business as consumer demand for natural products continues to grow. The transaction is subject to regulatory and other customary approvals and notifications and is expected to close by the end of Q2 2011. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
