DSM Composites Resins to Trade as Aliancys

DSM Composite Resins will begin trading under a new name, Aliancys, from Jan. 1, 2016. The company will retain its management and headquarters at Schauffhausen, Switzerland, but will be under new ownership as a 35:65 joint venture of DSM and CVC Capital Partners. The composite resins subsidiary of Dutch chemical producer DSM was carved out earlier this year – along with the Polymer Intermediates unit, which produces caprolactam and acrylonitrile – and spun off into the jv with the private equity investor.

A new name for the intermediates business has apparently been chosen, but not yet announced. Following the spin-offs, DSM said in August it would make adjustments to its organizational and operating model leading to job cuts totaling 900-1,100 by the end of 2017.  About half the layoffs will be in the Netherlands.
