Dottikon Boosts Swiss API Capacities

Swiss fine chemical company Dottikon is investing more than 100 million Swiss francs ($101 million) at its site in Aargau to add chemical process development and production capacities for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).

Multi-tonne API drying facilities will go into operation in the fourth quarter of 2016, while additional multi-purpose production capacities for sophisticated chemistry will become operational in the first half of 2017.

In addition, Dottikon will build a new laboratory and office building, which will be ready in 2018.

The company specializing in hazardous reactions, said it is positioning itself as a strategic development and manufacturing partner.

The company added 45 new jobs in the 2015-2016 financial year, 90% of them in chemical production. Dottikon said it expects to create a similar amount of new jobs in the coming business year.
