Cathy Demeestere, the former secretary general and CEO of EPCA, serves as the interim director general of the FECC, pending the appointment of a permanent director general during the course of 2019.

The board of the European Association of Chemical Distributors (FECC) has announced that Cathy Demeestere will serve as the interim director general of the association; effective 16 August 2018, and pending the appointment of a permanent director general during the course of 2019. She temporarily fills the vacant position previously held by Elisa Setién, who left FECC on August 15 after two and a half years to take over a new position in the chemical sector in Brussels.

Cathy Demeestere is the former secretary general and CEO of EPCA, the European Petrochemical Association. She officially retired at the end of 2017. Serving as the interim director general of FECC, she brings her 45 years of global business experience to the association, of which 30 years was on a general management level. Prior to association management she was active through the whole petrochemical value chain from oil and gas, paints to petrochemicals and polymers, as well as chemical logistics. A lawyer by training (Ghent University, Belgium), Cathy benefited from an extensive post-graduate executive education. She is, amongst others, an alumna of Harvard Business School (ISMP 1992) and the MIT Centre for Transportation and Logistics (2011 Strategic Supply Chain Management).
