Brenntag Expands Poland Site

German multinational chemical distributor Brenntag has announced plans to expand its site in Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Poland, to increase its service capabilities to customers in the animal nutrition and pet food industry. Proposals include adding a new production line and expanding storage capabilities by the end of 2022.

The site is one of eight production facilities in Europe where Brenntag produces both liquid and solid premixture solutions for animal nutrition and pet food. These include premixtures to preserve ingredients against yeast or molds, prevent contamination of bacteria, stimulate animals’ gut health, prevent oxidation of fats and oils, or create solid solutions of liquid ingredients.

“We have been experiencing very high demand for dry premixtures for some time,” said Tomasz Kowalik, application development manager animal nutrition Europe, Middle East and Africa. “This investment in our site in Poland is therefore a fitting opportunity to meet the ever-increasing market demands and individual needs of our customers even more. The planned expansion includes scaling up our production capacity, expanding into other type of products, and improving production and process automation.”

Brenntag developed its first products for the animal nutrition and pet food industry in Poland in 1999. Since then, the plant has evolved to serve customers from nearly 40 countries worldwide.

Wouter Vullings, director of animal nutrition for Europe, Middle East and Africa, added that the investment supports Brenntag’s long-term strategic goal to increase its presence as a leading solutions provider in the region’s animal nutrition market.
