Leading distributor Brenntag has once again boosted its lubricants business with the acquisition of US-based B&M Oil.

Headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, B&M markets, sells and distributes lubricants to the automotive, industrial, commercial, construction and agriculture markets throughout Oklahoma. The company primarily distributes products from ExxonMobil, including Mobil-branded lubricants for both passenger and commercial vehicles and industrial uses.

“B&M is a bolt on acquisition for J.A.M. Distributing, our Brenntag lubricants business platform in the central US region and will expand our offering in the growing Oklahoma marketplace,” said Markus Klaehn, member of Brenntag Group’s management board and CEO Brenntag North America.

B&M generated sales of $28.5 million in fiscal 2018. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The deal marks Brenntag’s fourth acquisition in the US so far this year. In January 2019, the German group bought the lubricants division of Reeder Distributors, based in Fort Worth, Texas. This was followed in March by the takeover of New England Resins & Pigments, a regional distributor of specialty chemicals and packaging products.

Marlin then joined Brenntag in May. The Lenoir, North Carolina-based company provides custom chemical blending and packaging services for liquid and powder products to customers in the mid-south region of the US.

Other US lubricants businesses that Brenntag has purchased in recent years include NOCO and Mayes County Petroleum Products in October and September, 2016 respectively, and Lubrication Services in March 2013.
