Brenntag Acquires a Chemical Logistics Site in Italy

Brenntag announced the agreement to acquire a chemical logistics site of Chimica D’Agostino in Italy. The site is located in the industrial area of the city of Bari, well connected with Adriatic highway, and with easy access to harbours on the seaside.

The site will increase Brenntag’s presence in the South Italian market and optimize its site network in the region. Brenntag Essentials will serve the Southern Italian market through its sites as Bari on the eastern (Adriatic) coast and its Anagni site on the western (Tyrrhenian) coast.

This investment is part of Brenntag Essentials’ “Strategy to Win”, strengthening the company’s site network and growing market shares, fostering Brenntag’s customer proximity and regional market position.

“The new site perfectly fits to our strategy of being the most trusted supplier with an ever-growing service offering for our customers. The location in Bari offers potential to grow further and supports our effort of serving across all industries,” commented Ignazio Vullo, President Brenntag Essentials EMEA South.

The new site in Bari has a total surface area of ca. 35,000 sqm and offers automation facilities for dilution, filling and packaging. The site includes an operating area with a tank farm / hypo tanks storage and a powder warehouse, a solvent tank farm, possibilities for Mixing & Blending, a loading/unloading area, the packed warehouse and dilution plants.

Chimica D’Agostino, an important chemical distributor in southern Italy, was in operations since 1948, serving several customers with raw material commodities and specialties for focus industries like Oil & Gas, Water Treatment and other Essentials industries.
