Bayer To Realign Diagnostics Business

Bayer is planning a restructuring of its diagnostics business, according to a report in the Financial Times Deutschland. The German pharmaceutical giant has been reportedly looking for a buyer for the Medical Imaging division, while the X-Ray contrast agents business may be merged into the Medical Care division.

The sale of the Medical Imaging division is expected to affect 100 employees who, as per the report, have already been notified of an impending sale. The diagnostics business was acquired in 2006 as part of Schering.
