BASF Expands European Tinting Concept

BASF has expanded its pan-European infrastructure for tinting its performance flooring and waterproofing systems. From now, its MasterTop and MasterSeal products can be tinted locally at BASF sites in Germany, Italy and Czech Republic, adding to its other hubs in Finland, the UK, Belgium, France and Spain.

The move, said BASF, makes it ideally positioned to supply all major European markets and to enter new ones, particularly in Eastern Europe. "The roll out of the tinting machines in Europe will improve our professional service significantly. We are now able to support our customers with our polyurethane and epoxy solutions much more flexibly and even quicker," said Luc Van Eldere, head of business segment management performance flooring Europe.

Warehouses at the European sites are supplied with a non-tinted base produced in Oldenburg, Germany, the company's recently opened competence center for performance flooring and waterproofing systems. To ensure color uniformity across the products, different shades have been calibrated and set individually for each hub.

MasterTop products are liquid-applied resin flooring systems for a wide range of applications in commercial buildings among others. The MasterSeal range comprises high-performance impregnation and waterproofing products to protect structures against water and moisture ingress and other contamination.
