Bachem announced the signing of an agreement for the supply of large quantities of peptides. As part of this agreement, Bachem will invest more than 500 million CHF in the greenfield project in Sisslerfeld. The strategic partnership includes upfront payments toward the investment costs and long-term commitments. Production at the new Sisslerfeld site is scheduled to begin in 2030. The partners have agreed not to disclose any further details.

“Demand for peptides as active pharmaceutical ingredients remains high. Long-term supply agreements are crucial to guaranteeing security of supply for our customers and their patients. At the same time, they enable targeted capacity expansion,” says Anne-Kathrin Stoller, CEO of Bachem. She adds: “This agreement strengthens Bachem’s planning certainty beyond the year 2030. It allows us to responsibly coordinate investments across our entire production network, including Sisslerfeld.”

Bachem is currently implementing a program to expand production capacity across its entire network. This includes facilities for the large-scale production of peptides and oligonucleotides. In doing so, the company is strengthening its position as a leading global partner for TIDES. Bachem operates a global network of production sites, including Bubendorf (Switzerland), Sisslerfeld (Switzerland), Vionnaz (Switzerland), Vista (U.S.), Torrance (U.S.), and St. Helens (U.K.).
