Azelis Boosts Australia Footprint

Azelis has entered into an agreement to buy CW Pacific in Australia, including Elle Bee Exports, CW Pacific Specialties and EB1. Financial terms of the deal, which is expected to close within the next two months, were not disclosed.

CW Pacific specializes in distributing food ingredients for the bakery and meat segment, as well as specialty chemicals for the horticulture sector. The company, which employs 17 people, primarily serves the Australian market, but also Papua New Guinea, New Zealand and other Pacific Islands.

“The portfolio of CW Pacific is highly complementary to our current one and will boost the life sciences range of Azelis Australia and New Zealand,” said Laurent Nataf, CEO & President of Azelis Asia Pacific. “The acquisition of CW Pacific will increase our market presence and overall product offering and will generate cross-selling opportunities in food and agrochemicals.”

Azelis added that it gained a leading position in Australia and New Zealand with the acquisition of Chemcolour in 2017.

At the end of October, Azelis also announced an agreement to buy Bronson and Jacobs Hong Kong and its wholly owned subsidiary in Shanghai, China.

Bronson and Jacobs China specializes in distributing personal care ingredients, primarily for skincare, and has offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
