Frank Bergonzi, CEO and president of Azelis Americas, said one of the pillars of its personal care strategy has been to focus on increasing its footprint in the US. He commented: “This acquisition affords us the extended reach and history of sustainable organic growth in a strategically important market segment.”

Azelis Americas has acquired Ross Organic, a specialty chemicals distributor located in Santa Fe, California, USA. Financial details were not disclosed. The move, said Azelis Americas, strengthens its presence in the specialty growth markets in the western US. Ross Organic sells into the personal care and home care/industrial cleaning markets.

Frank Bergonzi, CEO and president of Azelis Americas, said one of the pillars of its personal care strategy has been to focus on increasing its footprint in the US. He commented: “This acquisition affords us the extended reach and history of sustainable organic growth in a strategically important market segment.” The DeWolf acquisition in February 2014 has been “a resounding success,” Bergonzi said, while adding he believes Ross Organic will provide a similar boost in the market.

Stephanie Ross Leshney, co-owner and president of Ross Organic, said the deal will further strengthen its customer and supplier capabilities as well as ensure it remains the preeminent personal distributor in the western states.

Azelis Americas said it does not plan to make any significant changes to Ross Organic’s team and capabilities. The Connecticut-based company was formerly known as Koda Distribution Group before being acquired by Europe’s Azelis Group in December 2015.
