Their main aim is to provide consulting, engineering, and engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services for projects based on Axens technologies.

A Memorandum of Understanding signed between the pair allows them to propose “unique solutions to industrial CO2 emitters” that combine Doris’ expertise in full engineering services with Axens’ carbon capture technologies such as DMX and AdvAmine.

The joint offering covers the full CO2 value chain from capture at the point of emission to usage or permanent storage solutions, considering also the midstream chain of transportation by pipeline or ship.

“CCUS is one of the numerous solutions that will contribute to our industries decarbonization. Main challenge for a larger deployment is related to the total cost of ownership of the solution,” said Olivier Benyessaad, Doris head of strategy for Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia-Pacific. “With Axens technological know-how, we are now able to propose integrated and cost-effective solutions for all our industrial clients who are looking at implementing CCUS solutions.”

DMX technology removes CO2 from industrial flue gases, while AdvAmine is used to sweeten natural gas – removing the CO2 along with hydrogen sulfides and other contaminants to make it suitable for use.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) said “net zero plans make CCUS a necessity, not an option.” The IEA’s Roadmap to Net Zero by 2050 envisages CCUS growing to 7.6 billion t/y CO2 by 2050.
