Axalta Appoints Matthias Schönberg as New Vice President

Axalta Coating Systems has appointed Matthias Schönberg as Vice President of Axalta and President of its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. He will take up his position on October 1, 2015.

Schönberg joins Axalta from Continental where he held numerous leadership positions including, most recently, as CEO of its ContiTech Fluid Technology business and Executive Vice President of Continental AG. During his 17 year tenure with Continental, he gained experience in dealing with multi-brand, multi-channel and distributor-oriented business models as well as working closely with automotive OEMs.

Schönberg holds a Master of Business Administration, Corporate Finance and Tax from the University of Bayreuth, Germany.
