Airgas Names Jim McCarthy VP, Safety and Compliance

Airgas announced that it has appointed Jim McCarthy as its vice president - safety and compliance. McCarthy brings more than 30 years of industry experience to his new role, which includes leadership of Safecor, the Airgas organization responsible for developing and implementing the company's safety, compliance, environmental, and risk management practices.

Following 11 years of management and sales experience with MG Industries, McCarthy joined Airgas in 1988 as operations manager of the western zone. He was named operations manager of Sierra Airgas shortly thereafter, and then took over as president of Sierra Airgas in 1992.
