Air France Cargo-KLM Cargo Obtains Qualified Envirotainer Provider Accreditation

Air France Cargo-KLM Cargo has been awarded accreditation as a "Qualified Envirotainer Provider" (QEP) by Envirotainer, a Sweden-based manufacturer of active temperature-controlled air transportation solutions.

QEP accreditation recognizes that Air France Cargo-KLM Cargo have included Envirotainer-related elements into their quality management system as defined in IATA Perishable Cargo Regulations Chapter 17 "Air Transport Logistics for Temperature-Sensitive Healthcare Products."

Air France Cargo-KLM Cargo, which utilizes the largest number of Envirotainer containers, on a monthly basis, around the world, has since the merge of AF and KLM in 2005 been developing a specific product - Variation Pharma 1 - a Closed Cool Chain solution for goods requiring the strictest temperature control.

AF Cargo-KLM Cargo gives these specific products the highest boarding priority'supported by:
• Temperature and dry ice acceptance check during all the air logistic chain
• Captain monitored inflight temperature
• Dedicated storage area in transit
• Conditioned trucking on request

This service is available to over 100 stations around the world, either import or export, that are able to handle both RKN and RAP envirotainers.

AF Cargo-KLM Cargo has put in place in their hubs a dedicated operational team, which is in charge of monitoring all operations related to Envirotainer container handling.

In addition Air France Cargo-KL Cargo has a team of pharma specialists taking care of the main pharma markets in Europe, America and Asia. These specialists are able to meet the pharma customers and the freight forwarders in order to build, if needed, additional special operational processes on regular pharma flows.
