Aceto Consolidates Six Acquisitions

Aceto, a US-based manufacturer of specialty materials for life sciences and advanced technology end markets, has consolidated and integrated six recent acquisitions with an eye to developing its hybrid manufacturing/distribution model to supply high-growth end markets.

The company based at Washington in New York state said the manufacturing facilities acquired in less than 18 months complement its existing strengths in global procurement and distribution for biopharmaceutical and other demanding specialty acquisitions and extend its GMP manufacturing footprint to North America, Europe and India.

In line with the focus Aceto was shaping prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, the new assets offer enhanced capabilities throughout the R&D and drug development process, as well as increased GMP capabilities for manufacturing, packaging and ingredients and a strengthened focus on growth markets in the biopharmaceutical, vaccine, nutraceutical and cosmetics sectors.

Adding strength to the company’s existing asset base is especially timely now as the pandemic continues to show the fragility of global supply chains, requiring companies to rethink their current strategies and focus on achieving supply chain resilience and security, Aceto’s CEO, Gilles Cottier, stressed.

After seven decades in business, Cottier said the company has built a leading position as a value-added global ingredients supplier and in the past few years has moved aggressively to complement and expand its potential by adding high quality manufacturing operations across key strategic global markets.

Although Aceto’s core competencies and operations now span three continents and cover the entire R&D and product development as well as the manufacturing spectrum, the company said it intends to continue investing in advanced systems and targeted acquisitions to further integrate and augment its operations.
