Yiğitoğlu Kimya Sets up Hub in Moscow
Turkish Chemical Group Yiğitoğlu plans to expand its business into Eastern countries from its new office in Russia.
Yiğitoğlu, a chemical manufacturing, distribution and logistics services group headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey, is converting its representative office in Moscow into a trading office. Yiğitoğlu realized that Russia offers a great market and many opportunities, with its new developments and significant growth possibilities. Russia also has great expectations and goals for its pharmaceuticals and chemical sectors, hence Yiğitoğlu has chosen Russia as a hub to Eastern countries and as a big step for its globalization.
The group that recently appointed German citizen Thomas Göbel to lead the newly created Strategic Growth Projects division also joined the German Chamber of Commerce in Russia, which is seen as a strategical step to understand the market more quickly and to benefit from the network of this non-profit organization. The help of an organization such as the German Chamber of Commerce is precious during a new market entry as it represents an opportunity to integrate and understand more quickly the needs of the business community in Russia.
In early September, a group delegation visited Moscow to start activities. During the visit the delegation met with officials at the Turkish Embassy in Moscow and discussed key points to pay attention to when starting business in Russia. Yiğitoğlu also met several companies as potential acquisition candidates and explored relevant areas to rent warehouses.
The group’s service network spans across Turkey with regional directorates. Seven warehouses provide customers with smart storage technology and 85,000 sqm of storage capacity located in the most important industrial zones in Turkey. The network also includes an office in Shanghai.
