UK-based performance and specialty chemical manufacturer Thomas Swan has appointed Ray Fahmy as president of its US subsidiary Swan Chemical Inc. (SCI). He joined SCI in April 2019, taking over from Chuck Van Fleet who retired after 22 years with the company.

Fahmy has more than 30 years of experience in the specialty chemical industry and in particular within the biocide and preservatives market. Prior to joining SCI, he headed Lonza’s global hygiene and preservation business.

Harry Swan, CEO of Thomas Swan said: “Ray is a key appointment for us as we look to grow SCI over the coming years. The North and South American markets are a strategic growth area for Thomas Swan through additional sales of our UK manufactured products, wider distribution of other companies’ products and the establishment of our Contract Manufacturing services in the USA.”
