Tessenderlo Offshoot Buys Syngenta Weed Killer

Tessenderlo Kerley, part of Belgium’s Tessenderlo group, has acquired the global herbicide assets belonging to the weed killer norflurazon (Solicam) from Swiss agrochemical giant Syngenta, including trade names, registrations, and knowhow.

Solicam is used for control of grass and broadleaf weeds in citrus, alfalfa, peanuts, tree fruits and nuts, caneberries, grapes, asparagus, and other crops.

The product will be managed by NovaSource, the crop protection business unit of TKI, based at Phoenix, Arizona, in the US.

TKI, which operates 11 manufacturing plants in North America and a network of terminals, produces and markets specialty chemical solutions, including fertilizers, crop protection chemicals and process chemicals and services to diverse global markets.
