Taiwan County Orders Formosa Petchem Unit Closure

County officials in Taiwan ordered Formosa Petrochemicals to close a refinery unit on Monday after a fire on Sunday. Formosa Petrochemicals must pass air quality and other safety inspections before it can reopen the unit in its Mailiao refinery complex, officials with Yunlin county said. The refinery has a capacity of 540,000 barrels per day.
