Styrolution Commissions New SAN Plant in India

In response to what it said is growing demand from key industries in India, German-based Styrolution - the 50:50 joint venture of BASF and Ineos - has commissioned a new 40,000 t/y plant for its high performance SAN polymer at the company's Katol site in Gujarat state.

Styrolution currently produces around 60,000 t/y of SAN specialties in India, divided equally among the three sites Katol, Kandersari and Moxi. The company's chief executive, Robert Gualdoni, said the capacity expansion "paves the way for further growth, together with our customers in India."

The company's SAN products are sold under the Absolan trademark.
