Safic-Alcan Establishes Hungarian Subsidiary

French specialty chemicals distributor Safic-Alcan has set up a subsidiary in Hungary to service the country’s industrial manufacturing sector. Based near Budapest, Safic-Alcan Magyarorszag will focus on rubber and adhesives and other performance products while also providing sales and technical support for the local market. CEO of Safic-Alcan, Philippe Combette, said the move is aligned with its overall strategy to expand in countries where high demand is forecast.

The move follows that in August of Chemspec, a member of the Safic-Alcan Group, which opened a subsidiary in Mexico. Chemspec Mexico is based in Mexico City and provides sales and technical support to the elastomer compounding industry, such as tire and technical rubber production, as well as supporting the coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomer (CASE) and plastics market segments.

Chemspec said many manufacturing companies have opened production locations throughout northern and central Mexico over the past several years, and this has resulted in more and more customers asking it to support their operations in the country.
