Polet to Succeed Westerbeek at DSMEP

DSM has appointed Roeland Polet as new Business Group Director DSM Engineering Plastics, succeeding Roelof Westerbeek. A dual citizen of the US and the Netherlands, he joins DSM from Valspar, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, and Shanghai, China, where he led the Global Industrial Coatings division and was a member of the company´s Operating Committee.

In previous positions, Polet worked for DSM Engineering Plastics in the areas of R&D and Marketing and was general manager of the Celanese engineering plastics arm Ticona, then based in Frankfurt Germany.

Roelof Westerbeek, who joined DSM in 1989 later became president of DSM Engineering Plastics Asia Pacific and as of 2008 business group director of the engineering plastics arm. Westerbeek, who is based in Singapore, will be engaged in various projects within DSM until 1 July 2016, when he will leave the company.
