Philipp Morgenthaler to Join Circa as Head of Manufacturing

Philipp Morgenthaler will join sustainable biochemicals company Circa Group as Global Head of Manufacturing.

He has global manufacturing expertise and networks from an international career spanning almost 20 years, leading teams across Europe, USA, China and Brazil.

In his role, which was created following Circa’s IPO in March 2021, Morgenthaler will lead the group’s growth plans to achieve 80,000-tonne capacity by 2030. He will also support Circa’s delivery of the ReSolute plant, located in France, which will produce the platform biomolecule Levoglucosenone, from which the non-toxic, biobased solvent Cyrene is derived.

Tony Duncan, CEO of Circa Group, said, "Philipp is joining Circa as a member of the executive leadership team in May 2022. His considerable international experience in high quality technical materials provides Circa with manufacturing expertise in the production of materials for demanding high end applications. This appointment comes at an important time in the Circa journey, with our ReSolute plant due to be commissioned in 2023 and planning for further production facilities getting underway in early 2022.”
